I saw was not the god
I was told to see
or call upon.
The god I saw
was steam and late afternoon light.
The god I saw was
gleaming spray,
simmer and foam,
in the deep, deep world.
I saw a god who was
water, stone and sand.
I saw a god whirling
in a million atoms.
And resurrection
was the sky.
